Features

Long-running work, kept quiet.

A focused interface for the machines, terminals and agents you already use.

  • 01

    Sessions stay alive

tmux-backed shells and agents keep running when you close the app.

  • 02

    Runs on your machine

Files, Git, terminals and agents execute on the Host you pick.

  • 03

    Access is scoped

Pair a Mac or browser, grant only what it needs, revoke anytime.

  • 04

    Context at a glance

Session state, agent activity and Git context in one quiet view.

  • 05

    Voice on demand

Dictation sends audio for transcription only when you invoke it.

  • 06

    Headless Hosts

Run a Host on macOS or Linux without the desktop app.

How it works

The interface travels. The work stays put.

  1. 01

    Pick a Host

Your Mac or Linux server owns the project and processes.

  2. 02

    Start a session

Outirl opens a tmux-backed workspace and reconnects to it.

  3. 03

    Pair a device

Approve scoped access. Revoke it when you want.

Standalone Host

Install a Host.

macOS or Linux · ARM64 or x64 · curl, tar, tmux, Git · an Outirl account. No Node.js or Homebrew needed.

  1. 01

    Get a token

In Outirl: Add device → Add an execution Host. Single use, valid ten minutes.

  2. 02

    Run the installer

    curl -fsSL https://app.outirl.com/install-host.sh | sh

Checks the checksum, then asks for the token (hidden). Flags go after sh -s --:

    curl -fsSL https://app.outirl.com/install-host.sh | sh -s -- --system
    curl -fsSL https://app.outirl.com/install-host.sh | sh -s -- --token-file /path

--system starts before login. --token-file is for automation (file mode 0600).

  3. 03

    Check and maintain

outirl-host status, doctor, upgrade (rolls back on failure), uninstall (keeps files and sessions). Then remove the Host in Outirl settings to revoke its access.
